Weeks 28 and 29 were the turning point—make it or break it time for this league season.
If your goal was to improve your average, these were your last chances.
If you wanted to climb the standings… this was it.
At the top, there’s no mystery. Ron had first place locked up weeks ago. But the rest of the field? Plenty still to play for.
Let’s take a look at where things stand heading into the final position round.
Ron McKenzie
Ron has a firm grip on first place, holding a 9-point lead over George Bushee with only 4 points remaining.
He’s put together one of the best seasons in the league, improving his average by 21 pins—tops among all bowlers.
But there’s one thing missing…
He still hasn’t beaten Brad.
Their second matchup ended in another tie, bringing their season record to 4–4. Brad, of course, considers that a win—because technically… he hasn’t lost.
Ron faces George in the position round.
George Bushee
Sitting in second place, George holds a slim 2-game lead over Joe Holcomb.
To secure second, George needs to win at least two games against Ron—and get a little help from Joe dropping one.
No pressure… just bowling the league champ.
Joe Holcomb
Joe takes on fourth-place Carl Drury.
If Joe sweeps all four games and George drops two, they’ll tie for second.
If George loses three and Joe sweeps—Joe moves into second outright.
Simple math. Hard bowling.
Carl Drury
Carl sits just 1.5 games behind Joe.
A four-game sweep could push him into third place—and shake up the entire top of the standings.
Brad Finnearty
Brad had a strong stretch, going undefeated for three straight weeks… until reality showed up.
Losses to Ron (two games) and Bob Schorr (three games) ended his push for third.
Now, his focus shifts to the high average race.
He trails George by just .52 pins.
The equation is simple: Brad needs to outscore George by more than 40 pins in the final week to take third in average.
And of course… he’s still holding onto the fact that Ron hasn’t beaten him yet.
Mary McKenzie
Mary is sitting just two pins behind Brad—and yes, she’s enjoying that.
Their matchups over the years have been just as intense as Brad vs. Ron.
And let’s not forget…
Brad may or may not be taking bowling lessons from Mary in his quest to finally beat Ron.
Results… still pending.
Pat Worhle vs. Marilyn Drury
Pat holds a one-game lead over Marilyn—and now they face each other in the position round.
Marilyn is coming off a four-game sweep of Bubba Trein and has momentum on her side.
This one could flip fast.
Bob Reed vs. Jeff Fletcher
Bob Reed has reportedly trained a guard dog to intimidate his opponents.
Jeff Fletcher, sitting 2.5 games back, will need to rely on his firefighting instincts to handle both Bob… and the dog.
Vicki Trein vs. Tom Muncie
Vicki has been putting in the work—new bowling balls, new grip, and a whole new approach.
She’s also the most improved woman in the league this season and is looking to finish strong against Tom.
Tom, however, has a reputation…
He may not be near the top—but he’s always a threat to play spoiler.
Bubba Trein vs. Michael Altop
Separated by just half a game, Bubba and Michael are set for a tight battle.
Michael continues to improve with his two-handed style, and Bubba will be looking to hold him off.
David Pierce
David is sidelined with a knee injury.
Lancaster’s version of Pete Weber is expected to return for the summer league—and the league won’t be the same without him.
Bob Schorr
Bob played spoiler in a big way, taking three games from Brad and ending his run at third place.
Proof once again…
Sometimes the biggest impact comes from the middle of the pack.
Nothing new cracked the leaderboard this week—the top scores are holding strong. You can find them all on the league sheet… still untouched.
