🎳 LBA Seniors League Week Three: Brad’s Bubble Finally Bursts

Well folks, it finally happened. Brad Finnearty’s undefeated record is no more. And it wasn’t just a loss—it was a good, old-fashioned beatdown.

Mary McKenzie took all four games off Brad this week, sending him crashing back down to earth. The booger just couldn’t hang when faced with actual competition. Mary was locked in, Brad was flailing, and by the end of the day, she had flattened him by 107 pins total over the set. Ouch.

So long, paper champion. Hello, reality.

🏆 New Face at the Top

Despite the meltdown, Brad somehow still clings to first place—but now it’s a tie. The new co-leader? George Bushee, who picked up an easy 4-0 sweep thanks to Ron McKenzee being “out with an injury.” Or at least that’s the story Ron’s sticking to. (We’re not saying he’s faking, but we also didn’t see a doctor’s note.)

📈 Pat’s Big Step Forward

Meanwhile, Pat Worhle snuck into the three-way tie with style, sweeping Tom Muncie 4-0. Pat’s been steadily improving all year, and now he’s cashing in with higher scores and more wins. Someone’s been putting in the work, and it’s starting to show.

💥 Schorr Knocked Down the Ladder

In the honors section, a shakeup took place. Dave Pierce and Joe Holcomb stormed in with scratch games of 211 and 209 and took the top two scratch series spots at 611 and 605. That bumps early-season standout Bob Schorr down into third with his 578. Sorry, Bob, the honor roll’s got new tenants this week.

📊 The Rest of the Pack

Hanging tough just behind are Marylin and Carl Drury, both sitting with identical 7-9 records. They may not be at the top just yet, but don’t sleep on the Drurys—they’re both more than capable of making noise as the season rolls on.

Week 4 Recap: George Moves Into First By A Point

🌵 Dry Lanes, Dry Scores

Week four didn’t exactly roll in on smooth oil. The center’s lane machine had been broken for a few days, which meant the lanes were bone-dry. No oil, no mercy. Most bowlers spent the day watching their hooks grab early and their scores slide downhill.

But one man seemed to love it: George Bushee. Where others saw misery, George found opportunity. Maybe he grew up bowling on sandpaper, maybe he just likes chaos, but whatever it is—George thrived.

“Everyone else was fighting the lanes… George made them tap out.”

🏆 Bushee Pulls Ahead

Bushee swept Shirley Deavers 4-0, staking his claim to the top spot in the standings. His 586 scratch series and 691 handicap series weren’t just good—they shoved him into the record books, too. George now owns the 3rd-highest handicap game (242), the 3rd-highest scratch series, and the 2nd-highest handicap series of the year (691).

Dry lanes? No problem. George just climbed the ladder.

“While others slipped, George planted his flag at the top.”

😬 Brad & Pat Slip-Slide Away

Meanwhile, the rest of the front-runners were less than spectacular.

Brad Finnearty held onto second place, but barely. He scraped by with a 3-1 win over David Pierce, and now trails Bushee by just a single point. Undefeated season? That dream’s long gone. Now Brad’s hanging on like a cat on a screen door.

“Brad’s still in second—by a fingernail and a prayer.”

And then there’s Pat Worhle. Just last week he was sitting on top of the world. Now? Down to third after splitting the day 2-2 with Vicki Trein. Pat is only two points back, but the fall stings. He’ll tell you it’s “just a bump in the road.” We’ll tell you gravity’s undefeated.

“Pat didn’t just lose games—he lost altitude.”

📅 The Picture So Far

With Bushee up front, Brad clinging to second, and Pat sliding into third, the league is starting to separate into tiers. Week five will test whether George can keep feasting on dry lanes—or if someone else finally learns to survive in the desert.
