LBA Senior Singles League – Week 7 Recap

Chaos at the Top, Conspiracies in the Middle, and a New Sheriff Arrives

💥 Brad vs. Pat: A Friendly Beatdown

In a shocking turn of events, Brad Finnearty actually beat a real human being this week, taking all four games from Pat Worhle. Pat looked flat, Brad looked lucky, and the score sheet looked like someone rolled dice on it.

Brad says his dominance came from “legendary focus and determination.” Everyone else says it came from a spare ball deflection and three Brooklyn hits. Either way, Brad now sits in first place… sort of.

“There are no style points in bowling — which is good, because Brad has none.”

🕵️ Ron’s Rise Continues (Brad Demands Another Investigation)

If there’s one thing this league guarantees, it’s that Ron McKenzie is going to do something that annoys Brad. This week, Ron beat Joe Holcomb 4–0 to tie Brad for first at 18–14.

Naturally, Brad has already demanded another investigation, claiming Ron has been hanging around “statisticians and deep state bowling officials.” Rumor has it Brad is preparing a 12-page protest written on the back of a pizza box.

“Ron says it’s just skill. Brad says it’s corruption. The truth? Probably a little of both.”

🪦 George Falls to the Deadliest Opponent: The Absent Bowler

George Bushee suffered his most embarrassing loss of the season. Not to Joe. Not to Brad. Not even to Ron. No… he lost 0–4 to the league’s ultimate villain — the absent bowler.

Say what you want, but the absent bowler remains undefeated in spirit and legend. George slips to third place, and the mystique of the phantom opponent grows.

“You can’t beat someone who isn’t there — because they can’t miss.”

🎯 Vicki Strikes Back

With quiet consistency and a wicked smile, Vicki Trein smashed Marilyn Drury 4–0, launching herself into fourth place—just 2 points behind George.

The standings are now tighter than Brad’s thumb hole in winter. And with momentum like this, nobody wants to draw Vicki next week.

“Vicki doesn’t talk trash — she bowls it.”

🤠 New Bowler Walks In — Takes Over the Place

The league welcomed newcomer Jeff Fletcher, and he wasted zero time making enemies friends. Jeff immediately grabbed high scratch game for the week with a 202, like it was nothing.

New to the league? Yes. Afraid of the competition? Absolutely not. Jeff showed up, rolled heat, and punched his name into the standings.

LBA Senior Singles League – Week 8 Recap

Brad Escapes, Ron Slips, Tom Rises, and George Finds a New Rock Bottom

👑 Brad Back on Top—Unfortunately

Well, it happened. Brad Finnearty has lucked, stumbled, and Brooklyn-hit his way into sole possession of first place. He took 3 out of 4 from Bob Schorr, proving he can beat an actual person again and not just the imaginary “absent bowler” or the “vacant spot.”

Brad celebrated like he just won the U.S. Open, but let’s be honest—he owes his rise to Vicki Trein, who graciously beat Ron 3–1 and knocked him back into second.

“Ron didn’t pay the stats person enough this week,” Brad said.
Investigation pending. Again.

🔥 Tom Muncie Jumps Into the Fight

Big week for Tom Muncie, who swept Marilyn Drury 4–0 and launched himself into a tie for second place with Ron McKenzie.

Tom bowled like a man who finally found the right thumb tape and isn’t giving up the good roll anytime soon. Quiet guy. Serious game.

“He came in polite, left with 4 wins, and didn’t say a single word. Legend.”

📉 George in Full Meltdown Mode

Once a title contender, now a cautionary tale—George Bushee got swept 4–0 by the newcomer Jeff Fletcher.

George is officially spiraling. First he lost to the absent bowler, now to a guy still learning lane assignments. He may need spiritual help, lane help, or a new set of pins to bully.

“George isn’t losing games—he’s losing his will to compete.”

🎯 Weekly Honor Scores

  • 🥇 Joe Holcomb – 213

🎖 Season High Score Board (Still Unchanged)

No movement again. These scores are going to be like senior bowling—hard to move and slow to change. Anyone trying to steal a seasonal award better bring more ammo.

🧨 Power Rankings – Week 8

🔥 Who’s Hot

  1. Tom Muncie – Silent bowler, loud results.
  2. Jeff Fletcher – Making fast enemies and faster scores.
  3. Joe Holcomb – Still the guy everyone quietly fears.

🧊 Who’s Not

  1. George Bushee – Please return to the front desk, your confidence has been misplaced.
  2. Ron McKenzie – Forgot to bribe the scoring table this week.
  3. Brad – Yeah, he’s in first—but we’re all still suspicious.

💬 Quote of the Week

Ron McKenzie: “I didn’t bowl bad, I just bowled worse than Vicki.”
